Who we are
Hannah Mayhew is a counsellor, psychotherapist and founder of The Listening Barn.
Growing up in Suffolk in a farming family, Hannah has a deep appreciation for the countryside and an understanding of the strength and resilience found in its communities. She also recognises that life can bring challenges which test that resilience and that living outside towns can present its own unique pressures.
“Being human can be really tough at times and it takes courage to ask for help and be willing to make changes in your life. Vulnerability may feel risky and frightening, but it is not weakness. Seeking professional mental health support is an act of kindness to yourself and those around you.”
Hannah works with adults from all walks of life and has a particular commitment to supporting people in rural areas with issues including stress, anxiety, and depression.
She is a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and holds an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Counselling.
